Where are you based?

I currently live in Linden, Johannesburg with my hubby, Matt and our two cats, Phoebe and Zoe.

I am always up to travel though, so let's chat!

What is your approach?

I am fascinated by people and I love that every, single time I pick up my camera, the story will be completely different than the last. I focus on chasing the light (literally, sometimes running to catch it) and documenting human connection - this looks different for everyone. I follow a very journalistic-style approach of photographing - I pride myself on capturing moments that are honest and emotive -
ones that will last you forever. I try not to intrude too much so that you feel comfy and relaxed, and so that your day is coordinated by what is happening, and not by me. Memories that are unposed, unscripted and true to you. No cheese. No cringe. (However, I promise to give you direction/prompting, when needed).

What happens if you are ill and cannot be there on my day?

While I hope that it will never have to come to that, I do have plans in place incase of unforeseen circumstances. I explain this in more detail in my contract but I have a network of fellow photographers to shoot in place of me. These are highly capable professionals who will capture your day in just as an authentic and beautiful way. In most cases, I will still then edit the images, myself.

Do you help with the planning process?

Oh my goodness, most definitely and with absolute pleasure!
Having been a bride myself, I know about all the questions that you have and the decisions that you have to make. And yes - I will help you with your wedding timeline!

What is your turn-around time?

I will always send you a sneak peek within a week of your shoot/wedding.
Thereafter, for couples, engagement and lifestyle, I take between 6-8 weeks.
For weddings, it's generally anywhere between 12-16 weeks, depending on whether or not it's in peak wedding season.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Unless it's intolerable, I will always suggest that we go with it. If I think that I am unable to protect my gear, we will reschedule. Some dramatic wind and light rain can be unbelievably beautiful and can draw out incredible emotion, making for magical photos!

What are your prices?

Smaller sessions (family, couples, portraits) start at R3500. Elopements/intimate weddings start at R16500 and full-day weddings start at R28500.

What are your travel costs?

I charge R6/km from my house in Parkhurst to your venue and back for all smaller couples/lifestyle shoots.

For weddings where I am able to drive (one hour or less), I charge R6/km. For weddings where I am able to drive (three hours or less), I charge R6 per km and I ask for one night’s modest accommodation (the night of the wedding).
For weddings where I am still able to drive (five hours or less), I also charge R6 per km and I ask for two nights’ modest accommodation (the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding).
For destination weddings out of Johannesburg where I have to take a flight (more than 5 hour drive) I ask for two nights’ modest accommodation (night before and night of wedding) as well as flight tickets, to be paid for.

What if we have to postpone our wedding?

I don't charge any penalties for postponing (provided I am available on your new date).

How do I book you?

I ask for a booking fee of 50% of your package price and a signed contract. Then we're good to go!
